ABOUT THE GHANA DANCE AWARDS
The Ghana Dance Awards (GDA) was founded in August 2013 by Flash Mob Ghana Limited (FMG) to recognise and celebrate dancers, dance groups, corporate bodies and organisations that have in diverse ways played outstanding role(s) mainly in promotion of dance in Ghana and around the globe. It has been registered with the Registrar Generals’ Department as a Trademark.
The award ceremony which begins in 2017 is a registered Trademark of the FMG and shall continue to be an annual ceremony among other interesting activities. The calendar for the award scheme starts from January 1 to December 31 each year.
AWARD FORMAT & STRUCTURE
There shall be a series of activities before, during and after the ceremony. These shall include the nominees selection process, press launch, road shows, main event, etc. There shall also be the GDA Organising Committee, GDA Board and other sub-committees that will oversee the various activities for the ceremony.
THE GDA BOARD
There shall be the GDA Board made up of 7 members and they shall execute the following tasks:
– Brainstorm and adopt the forms of practice and approach for the nominees’ selection processes.
– Identify and/or nominate deserving dancers, dance groups, corporate bodies and organisations to various categories.
SELECTION & VOTING PROCESS
The GDA Board shall take charge of developing the best form of process for selecting nominees into various categories. Voting shall commence after nominees are announced and shall be done through the platform as announced by organisers.
